Governor Jishnu Dev Varma connected Thursday inaugurated a 108-foot-high nationalist emblem astatine the Mehdipatnam Garrison successful a ceremonial lawsuit organised by the Indian Army.
The lawsuit was attended by Special Chief Secretary for Home CV Anand, Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police M. Ramesh, elder Army officers, civilian dignitaries, representatives of the Flag Foundation of India, soldiers, veterans and NCC cadets.
The programme included a defender of honour, hoisting of the Tricolour and the rendition of the nationalist anthem. Addressing the gathering, the Governor paid tribute to the bravery and professionalism of the equipped forces and acknowledged the sacrifices of soldiers and their families. He besides appreciated the publication of veterans and veer naris, and urged NCC cadets to uphold the values of discipline, work and patriotism.
He thanked Naveen Jindal, president of the Flag Foundation of India, for sponsoring the 108-foot mast, and commended the foundation’s efforts to beforehand respect for the nationalist flag. Major General Rahul Dev Sharma, General Officer Commanding of the Bison Division, expressed gratitude to the Governor and said the installation reflects the coordination betwixt the civilian medication and the army.
