In bid to curb the merchantability and usage of accepted firecrackers and promote eco-friendly greenish crackers during Deepavali festivities, Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre has instructed the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) to get an undertaking from firecracker store owners stating that they volition not merchantability dense metallic chemic crackers and merchantability lone eco-friendly greenish crackers.
Speaking to reporters aft flagging disconnected Electric Vehicles (EV) astatine the Vidhana Soudha connected Monday, Mr. Khandre directed that enactment beryllium taken to cancel the licenses of those selling dense metallic chemic crackers.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched 68 EV vehicles for usage by the determination and zonal offices of the KSPCB.
Mr. Khandre said that arsenic diesel vehicles that are 15 years aged cannot beryllium utilized by the board, determination was shortage of vehicles which was hindering the monitoring of single-use plastic, aesculapian waste, e-waste disposal units, inspection and verification of single-use integrative manufacturing units, shops and investigating the prime of h2o sources.
“A connection has been sent by the committee for the procurement of 68 EV vehicles which has been approved. KSPCB officials should marque bully usage of these vehicles and marque sincere efforts to support the situation successful collaboration with section organisations,” Mr. Khandre said.
