The Central Division Cyber Crime Police person launched a manhunt for a conman who allegedly impersonated the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division, and called a constabulary inspector demanding money.
The fraud came to airy connected Friday aft the inspector of the S.J. Park constabulary presumption received a connection containing the photograph of the DCP from an chartless mobile number, seeking money. The connection falsely projected the sender arsenic DCP Akshay M. Hakay.
Suspecting foul play, the inspector contacted the DCP straight and shared screenshots of the message. Upon verification, it was confirmed that the connection had been sent by an impostor.
Taking cognisance of the incident, Mr. Hakay archetypal lodged an online ailment and aboriginal filed a ceremonial ailment with the Cybercrime police, seeking ineligible enactment against the offender.
