Four workers fainted aft inhaling poisonous state from a septic vessel of a backstage effluent attraction works astatine V.C. Mottur colony adjacent Ranipet municipality connected Wednesday.

Police said the affected workers were identified arsenic S. Ellumalai, 53, V. Ramesh, 43, B. Santhakumar, 37, and Mohammed Imitaz, 31. They are residents of V.C. Mottur colony successful the district. 

Initial enquiry revealed that the 4 workers opened the tank, which is astir 10 feet deep, to region sludge successful it. Immediately, the workers collapsed and fell wrong the sump. The incidental occurred astatine astir 8 a.m.

The wellness information of the workers is stable,” said S. Usha Nandini, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Government Taluk Hospital, Walajah. 

Ranipet constabulary registered a lawsuit nether Section 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and nether the provisions of The Prohibition of Employment arsenic Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013. A probe is being done.
