A squad led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Srikanth arrested 4 persons connected the complaint of cause peddling and seized 22.250 kg of cannabis worthy ₹ 11.12 lakh from them connected Saturday.
The constabulary gave names of the accused arsenic Kiran Baburam Jadhav, 27, of Jalgaon territory successful Maharashtra; Sameer Shah, 19, of Dewas territory successful Madhya Pradesh; M.H. Mayyadi, 48, of Hejamady colony successful Udupi district; and Ibrahim Khaleel, 47, of Kudroli successful Mangaluru.
In a property note, the constabulary said the accused were arrested from a spot adjacent Jokatte Cross wherever they were recovered selling cannabis. Jadhav and Shah had procured cannabis from cause peddlers successful Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Then they gave it to Mayyadi and Khaleel, who, successful turn, sold cannabis successful Udupi, Malpe, Karkala, Mulky, Surathkal, Panambur and a fewer different places successful Mangaluru. The accused person been selling cannabis successful Mangaluru and Udupi for respective years. The constabulary are searching for different persons associated with the arrested persons.
Apart from cannabis, the constabulary seized six mobile phones and 2 scooters from the accused.
MDMA seized
The Urwa constabulary connected Friday, arrested Maneesh, 20, Shreejit Shetty, 24, and Vignesh Shetty, 23, and seized 16.52 grams of MDMA worthy ₹1.65 lakh from them. The constabulary said they were recovered selling MDMA successful Kodikal.
The Bantwal Rural constabulary connected Thursday arrested Prashant alias Prasad, 30, of Meramagalu successful Bantwal taluk, and seized 180 grams of cannabis. In a property note, the constabulary said they were searching for Abdul Razak of Pallamajalu successful Bantwal taluk, who has supplied cannabis to Prashant.
