The Ullal constabulary person booked 4 persons for alleged amerciable extraction and proscription of laterite stones from Kerala to Mangaluru. The constabulary person seized ₹10,000 worthy laterite stones and lorry worthy ₹3 lakh successful which it was carried.
The constabulary said a squad of officers, who were progressive successful checking vehicles adjacent Thokkottu flyover, stopped a lorry coming to Thokkottu from Deralakatte astatine 5.30 p.m. connected October 23. Ashok Kumar Monterio, the operator of the lorry owned by Philip D’Souza, was carrying 400 laterite stones extracted from a quarry owned by Sunil successful Kumble successful Kasaragod territory of Kerala. The constabulary recovered the laterite stones were extracted without paying royalty to Kerala Government. The stones were being taken to the location of Rajesh successful Nandigudde successful Mangaluru.
The Ullal constabulary registered a lawsuit against Ashok Kumar Monterio, Philip D’Souza, Sandeep, and Rajesh.
