Foundation stone laid for floodwater retaining wall in Cuddalore district

Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare M.R.K. Panneerselvam, connected Thursday laid the instauration chromatic for the operation of a floodwater retaining partition on the close broadside of the Thenpennai River from Kumarappan Nagar to the Collectorate analyzable successful Cuddalore.

The retaining partition task would beryllium taken up by the Water Resources Department with fiscal assistance of ₹14.50 crore from the District Mineral Fund.

Mr. Panneerselvam said the retaining partition would support radical surviving successful low-lying areas of Manjakuppam, Om Sakthi Nagar, Poonthendral Nagar, Gunduuppalavadi, Ucchimedu and Nanamedu, which are prone to flooding.
