Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore connected Tuesday said the Andhra Pradesh authorities had credited ₹27.19 crore into the slope accounts of 13,597 beneficiaries successful the territory nether the sportfishing prohibition alleviation scheme.

Addressing the gathering, the Collector said the authorities had released ₹20,000 each to fisher families to assistance them during the yearly sportfishing prohibition period.

Mr. Kishore said astir 1,500 much beneficiaries had been added to the strategy this twelvemonth compared to past year. He added that the livelihood assistance scheme, which earlier covered lone six unit members connected mechanised sportfishing boats, had present been expanded to screen 8 to 10 persons per boat.

He said efforts would beryllium made to place and see each eligible fisherfolk who had been near retired of the scheme.
