Tamil Nadu Minister for Finance, Environment, and Climate Change, Thangam Thennarasu connected Wednesday said that the State Government had sanctioned ₹471.53 crore towards procurement of 3,000 caller BS-VI buses to regenerate the aged buses of the State transport undertakings, and an further magnitude of ₹469.84 crore for the implementation of the ‘Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam’ strategy (under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department) for the fiscal twelvemonth 2025-26.
Mr. Thennarasu presented the First Supplementary Estimates for a sum of ₹2,914.99 crore.
