Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar volition inaugurate a 132/33 kV substation astatine Gannavaram Airport connected January 5 (Monday). Built astatine an estimated outgo of ₹30.65 crore, the substation is equipped with 2 50 MVA powerfulness transformers and precocious extortion and power systems, according to an authoritative release.
The substation has been established chiefly to conscionable the increasing powerfulness requirements of Gannavaram International Airport, the upcoming aerial postulation power operation and the ongoing airdrome enlargement works. It volition cater to Gannavaram, Vijayawada Rural and Ungutur mandals, benefiting astir 3.50 lakh people.
The installation is expected to code the long-standing low-voltage problem, trim transmission losses and minimise powerfulness interruptions caused by agelong 33 kV feeder lines from distant substations.
