The Election Commission (EC) appointed IPS Officer M. Sarvana Vivek arsenic constabulary perceiver for the upcoming Assembly elections successful West Bengal, according to a notification.

M. Sarvana Vivek, a 2015-batch IPS serviceman of the Odisha cadre, volition oversee police-related arrangements during the two-phase polls said the Election Commission.

"In workout of the powers conferred connected it by Article 324 of the Constitution of India and Section 20B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints you arsenic its Police Observer for the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal, 2026," it said.
