ED issues fresh summons to former Kerala CM Pinarayi’s daughter Veena in CMRL pay-off case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing a wealth laundering lawsuit involving minerals institution CMRL, has issued a caller summons to Veena T, girl of erstwhile Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, directing her to look for questioning connected June 17, sources said connected Friday (June 12, 2026).

The ED had earlier asked Ms. Veena to look earlier its Kochi portion connected Friday.

However, pursuing an email from Ms. Veena seeking much time, citing wellness issues, the bureau issued a caller summons, sources said.

The ED has asked Ms. Veena to look astatine its Kochi bureau astatine 10 americium connected June 17, on with applicable documents related to transactions involving her now-defunct IT firm, Exalogic Solutions Private Limited.

The probe pertains to allegations that Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) made payments amounting to ₹2.78 crore to Exalogic without receiving immoderate services successful return.

According to the ED, different company, Empower India Capital Investments Private Limited (EICPL), operated by CMRL managing manager Sasidharan Kartha, had extended loans worthy ₹50 lakh to Exalogic contempt the institution allegedly failing to marque timely repayments.

The bureau has alleged that Ms. Veena and the absorption of CMRL, led by Mr. Kartha, generated “proceeds of crime” done these transactions.
