A 5.9 magnitude earthquake centred successful Afghanistan astatine a extent of 150 km has been reported precocious Friday (April 3, 2026). Tremors were felt successful respective parts of Delhi NCR, Suresh Gaddale of the National Centre for Seismology confirmed to The Hindu.

The tremors, which lasted a fewer seconds, occurred astir 9:45 p.m. and they were felt successful respective parts of northbound India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana, officials said. There were nary contiguous reports of immoderate damage.

The epicentre of the quake was Afghanistan, astatine a Latitude of 36.398 degrees North and a Longitude of 70.878 degrees East, the authoritative said.

The extent of the quake was 150 km, helium added.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) said that the quake was recorded astatine 9:13 p.m., with a extent of 190 kilometres.
