Members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) present connected Wednesday laid siege to Madurai District Collector’s bureau premises, alleging a multi-crore sanitation and wage scam by a backstage discarded absorption contractor.  

The protesters raised terrible allegations against the backstage contracting steadfast presently entrusted with coagulated discarded absorption operations nether Madurai City Corporation.  

According to the protesters, the backstage steadfast has been operating in gross usurpation of its authoritative agreements.   

Veldeva of DYFI, levelled superior charges of corruption, claiming that the institution has been deliberately weighing dense stones, soil, and debris alongside regular municipal discarded to falsely inflate the tonnage of garbage collected—thereby siphoning disconnected nationalist funds.  

Further, they alleged wide irregularities successful the disbursement of wages to the city’s sanitation workers. They claimed that their hard-earned wage was unlawfully deducted oregon mismanaged.  

Holding precocious banners and raising slogans against firm exploitation and administrative apathy, the assemblage marched successful a procession toward the District Collectorate.  

The concern escalated rapidly erstwhile the protestors attempted to breach the gates and tempest into the Collector’s bureau compound. Heavy constabulary contingents deployed astatine the venue barricaded the entranceway and physically restrained the marchers.   

This led to a heated altercation and a carnal scuffle betwixt the agitators and constabulary personnel.
