Thousands of devotees thronged the Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) to witnesser the expansive ‘Thirukalyanam’ (celestial wedding) of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar on the 10th day of the annual Chithirai festival.
The ‘Thirukalyanam’, the item of the festival, took spot astatine the flower-bedecked Thirukalyana Mandapam between 8.35 a.m. and 8.59 a.m. ‘Thirumangalyam’ was placed connected Goddess Meenakshi astatine 8.55 a.m. amid the chanting of hymns.
