The Delhi High Court connected Friday (May 22, 2026) granted 3 days’ interim bail to Umar Khalid, an accused successful the 2020 Delhi riots.

The bid was passed by a Bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Madhu Jain, aft Khalid appealed against the proceedings court’s May 19 bid that rejected his bail, saying that attending the ceremonial of his deceased uncle was “not that necessary” and that different household members were disposable to instrumentality attraction of his mother.

Khalid was booked nether the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for being 1 of the “masterminds” of the February 2020 riots that had near 53 radical dormant and much than 700 injured.
