Delhi High Court protects the personality rights of actor NTR Jr.

The Delhi High Court has protected the property rights of histrion Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Junior, popularly known arsenic NTR Junior, restraining respective websites and online platforms from unauthorised commercialized usage of his name, representation and likeness.

Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, portion proceeding a plea filed by the actor, passed an interim bid restraining assorted defendants — including unidentified entities and websites — from exploiting the actor’s property traits utilizing artificial quality and deepfake technology until the adjacent day of hearing.

In the bid passed connected Monday (December 22, 2025), the Court said, “Plaintiff [NTR Junior] is simply a known and recognised histrion whose name, image, and likeness person acquired goodwill done decades of nonrecreational accomplishment and marque endorsements. His estimation arsenic a fashionable and well-recognized actor, who is simply a recipient of aggregate prestigious awards.”

“Plaintiff has millions of followers crossed societal media platforms. It is stated that Plaintiff has respective marque endorsement agreements and is simply a sought-after marque ambassador by respective entities. These facts holistically found the nationalist relation uniquely tied to his identities and his estimation amongst the nationalist not constricted to his fans,” the Court said.

“The plaintiff is entitled to question injunction against the usage of his property rights by 3rd parties for selling merchandise for their commercialized gains, without his authorisation,” the Court noted, adding that the continuing availability of the infringing merchandise would origin irreparable wounded to the actor.

Recently, Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, her hubby Abhishek Bachchan and her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, filmmaker Karan Johar, vocalist Kumar Sanu, Telugu histrion Akkineni Nagarjuna, Art of Living laminitis Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, writer Sudhir Chaudhary and podcaster Raj Shamani besides approached the High Court seeking extortion of their property and publicity rights. The Court granted them interim relief.
