Delhi High Court protects Jaya Bachchan’s personality rights

The Delhi High Court connected Monday (November 10, 2025) protected the property rights of histrion and Samajwadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan.

The tribunal was proceeding Ms. Bachchan’s plea stating respective societal media accounts, YouTube channels and websites were misusing her sanction and persona for commercialized gains.

Her counsel said attributes of her persona, including her images, were being misused without immoderate authorisation from her and that merchandise featuring her pictures was being sold.

The counsel said that technological tools specified arsenic Artificial Intelligence were utilized to make videos having a likeness to her client. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora said that she would walk an bid against the infringing entities.

The court, however, said it was not inclined to walk a restraining bid against a backstage entity selling Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan’s posters of the 1973 movie Abhimaan connected Amazon.

The Delhi High Court had earlier passed akin orders protecting the property rights of her hubby Amitabh Bachchan, lad Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
