Over 40,000 farmers and workers began a monolithic protestation march led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the All India Kisan Sabha.
The protestation was led by CPI(M) Polit Bureau subordinate and AIKS National President Dr. Ashok Dhawale, erstwhile CPI(M) Central Committee subordinate alongside erstwhile AIKS State President J.P Gavit, and ex-MLA, CPI(M) Central Committee member, State Secretary and AIKS National Joint Secretary Dr. Ajit Nawale,

The march led by the CPI(M) and the AIKS addressed captious cultivation and labour issues.
