Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Kasaragod, celebrated its 110th Foundation Day connected Monday.
Inaugurating the celebrations, Central University of Kerala Vice-Chancellor Siddu P. Algur emphasised the challenges faced by the plantation sector, including clime risks, terms volatility, and labour shortage. He underscored the value of research, exertion integration, collaboration among scientists, and the usage of information analytics, predictive modelling and precision farming delivered via mobile exertion to enactment aboriginal agriculture.

The inauguration of a three-day 26th Plantation Crops Symposium besides marked the celebrations. The symposium, themed “Future Proofing Plantation Sector for Well-being and Welfare,” saw implicit 200 delegates, including scientists, academicians, policymakers, manufacture experts and progressive farmers.
In his introductory address, CPCRI manager K.B.
