A mates who were collecting wealth for Deepavali chit money and allegedly cheated the nationalist were arrested successful the territory connected Wednesday (November 12, 2025).
The arrested were identified arsenic Subramani (56) of Odapalli Agraharam adjacent Pallipalayam and his wife, Palaniammal (54). They had started to cod Deepavali chit funds from section residents successful October past year.
As per their promise, the chit money magnitude should person been returned past month. But erstwhile the radical who had invested successful the chit enquired, the mates did not reply properly. Following this, the radical lodged a ailment with the District Crime Branch (DCB).
The constabulary registered a lawsuit and recovered the mates allegedly cheated the nationalist to the tune of ₹52.31 lakh. The constabulary connected Wednesday arrested the mates and are investigating further.
