In relation with HCL Foundation and SEDT (Socio Economic Development Trust), the Corporation had embarked upon the thought of establishing a nine named - “Discovery Science Club” nether the Young Kalam Discovery Science Centre successful which astir 800 students from 24 schools were roped in.

With the guidance of the subject teachers, the students, who were members of the subject club, were encouraged to work books/journals different than their syllabus. The thought was to springiness them vulnerability which would yet kindle them to travel retired with their ain innovations.

With this objective, the schools had formed students successful micro groups of 4 each with a teacher arsenic guide. A bulk of these micro groups displayed their ideas astatine the subject accumulation held connected Friday.

The toppers from 2 categories (seniors and juniors), who were judged by a sheet of jury, were fixed ₹10,000 each for 2 students arsenic archetypal prize, ₹7,000 each arsenic 2nd prize to 2 students and ₹5000 each for 2 students arsenic 3rd prize.

The winners were from NMSM School, Kakkaipadiniyaar School, Sundararajapuram Boys High School, Bharatiar Middle School, Velli Veethiyaar School and Masathiyar Girls schoolhouse respectively.

Corporation Education Committee Chairman Ravichandran, executives from the HCL Foundation, including Prakash Raman, Newton Raj and Shasank, SEDT representatives Premkumar, Ulaganatharaja, Indra Devi and Krupakaran, Corporation School HMs, module members and others participated successful the exhibition.

The winners said that they were overwhelmed by the designation and encouragement by the Corporation authorities.
