Coconut farmers protest steep fall in prices, seek ₹20,000 for 1,000 coconuts

Coconut farmers astatine Vijayarai successful Pedavegi mandal staged a protestation demanding a just price, saying the complaint has dropped from ₹26,000 to ₹14,000 to ₹15,000 per 1,000 coconuts.

State convener K. Srinivas of the Andhra Pradesh Coconut Farmers’ Association said traders are slashing prices by citing inflows from Karnataka and Kerala and described the inclination arsenic marketplace manipulation. The farmers are urging the authorities to hole the terms astatine ₹20,000 per 1,000 coconuts and warned of statewide protests if their request is ignored.
