Members of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) connected Tuesday staged a protestation successful beforehand of the Mayiladuthurai Municipality office, demanding support for pavement vendors to run shops astatine the recently opened autobus terminus successful Manakkudi.
The protestation follows the inauguration of the caller autobus basal connected March 13, which led to the closure of the impermanent autobus installation connected Park Avenue Road. Vendors who had been operating pavement shops astatine the now-defunct installation said they had mislaid their livelihoods owed to the relocation.
