Citizens’ Voice Coimbatore urges Centre to revise railway cancellation policy, citing passenger burden

Citizens’ Voice Coimbatore (CVC) has submitted a practice to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw seeking a reappraisal of the revised railway summons cancellation charges, stating that the changes person affected passengers, peculiarly those travelling successful Sleeper Class and AC 3-Tier.

The organisation said the contiguous cancellation operation places a fiscal load connected middle-income passengers, including elder citizens, students and patients. It urged the Railways to reconstruct the pre-COVID slab-based system, which it described arsenic balanced. It besides recommended that first-time cancellations made up to 4 hours earlier departure should not pull charges.
