Chennai Mayor R. Priya inaugurated 26 caller vehicles astatine Ripon Buildings connected Thursday (October 16, 2025). The fleet includes 21 battery-operated vehicles for roadworthy attraction and 5 dog-catching vehicles.
According to a property release, the 21 battery-operated vehicles were provided by 2 backstage banks nether their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
The Chennai Corporation presently operates 23 dog-catching vehicles. To fortify measures to power stray dogs, 5 further vehicles were procured nether the Corporation’s superior money astatine a outgo of ₹10.43 lakh each, totalling ₹52.17 lakh, the merchandise said.
