Changes to MCD Act aim to make laws more citizen-friendly: Mayor

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh connected Sunday said the projected amendments to the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957 purpose to decriminalise insignificant civic offences and marque the regulatory model much citizen-friendly, rational, and facilitative.

“These projected changes bespeak a displacement from punitive enforcement to a much balanced, compliance-oriented attack that promotes practice betwixt citizens and the municipal administration,” the Mayor said.
