At the 42nd instauration time celebrations of the DSIR, Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh announced the removal of the three-year viability criteria for deep-tech start-ups to avail fiscal assistance of up to ₹1 crore nether the Industrial Research and Development Promotion Programme (IRDPP) of the department.

The DSIR extends fiscal assistance of up to ₹1 crore to start-ups nether the IRDPP lone if they beryllium to beryllium sustainable and viable for a minimum play of 3 years.
