Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg connected Wednesday said that the National Apex Committee (NAC) has accorded support for 3 cardinal infrastructure improvement projects projected by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) nether the “Urban Challenge Fund (UCF)” strategy being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India.
The Commissioner stated that these 3 projects, designed with an estimated outgo of ₹1,501.03 crores, person been planned keeping successful presumption the aboriginal infrastructure needs of Visakhapatnam city.
The projects projected by GVMC see - Development of Underground Drainage (UGD) System successful Madhurawada Zone – ₹658.61 crores, Development of 24/7 Smart Water Supply System successful Madhurawada Zone – ₹725.18 crores; Rehabilitation and Modernisation of Bulk and Semi-Bulk Water Supply System – ₹117.24 crores.
He stated that these projects would importantly fortify drinking h2o supply, sewerage management, and modern municipality infrastructure improvement successful Visakhapatnam city. The Commissioner further informed that fiscal assistance for implementation of these projects would beryllium mobilised done planetary and nationalist fiscal institutions. IFC Term Loan enactment would beryllium extended for the Madhurawada UGD project, Canara Bank fiscal assistance for the 24/7 Smart Water System project, and Indian Overseas Bank indebtedness enactment for modernization of the bulk h2o proviso system.
