Centre approves ₹72.42 crore for Ameenabad harbour in A.P.

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has fixed administrative support for ₹72.42 crore to implicit the Ameenabad sportfishing harbour successful Kakinada territory nether Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

The harbour was designed to facilitate anchoring of 2,500 boats, with the yearly handling of 1.10 lakh tonnes.

In an authoritative release, Kakinada City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao said that the Centre had granted administrative support for ₹72.42 crore for the Ameenabad harbour.

According to a missive dated June 5 to the Andhra Pradesh government, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has assured to research the viability for backing for the Ameenabad harbour from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways nether the Sagarmala Scheme.
