A High-Level Committee (HLC) chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah has approved ₹707.97 crore of further cardinal assistance to the States of Assam and Gujarat which were affected by flood and landslides during twelvemonth 2024, a connection by the ministry said.
The assistance has been provided from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). Out of the full magnitude of ₹707.97 crore, ₹313.69 crore has been approved for Assam and ₹394.28 crore for Gujarat.
The HLC besides approved ₹903.67 crore to Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan nether NDRF for Expansion and Modernization of Fire Services.
Out of the full magnitude of ₹903.67 crore, ₹117.19 crore has been approved for Haryana, ₹397.54 crore for Madhya Pradesh and ₹388.94 crore for Rajasthan.
This further assistance is different than the funds released by the Centre to the States from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), already placed astatine the disposal of the States. In 2025-26, the Central Government has released ₹13,603.20 crore to 27 States nether SDRF and ₹2,024.04 crore nether NDRF to 12 States.
Additionally, ₹4,571.30 crore from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) has been released to 21 States and ₹372.09 crore from National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF) has been released to 9 States.
