CBI opposes plea for judge’s recusal in Delhi liquor policy case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) connected Thursday (April 9, 2026) informed the Delhi High Court that erstwhile Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and different discharged accused successful the liquor argumentation lawsuit cannot question the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma simply due to the fact that she attended a “legal seminar” by the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, arsenic it does not show immoderate ideological association.

In effect to applications by the AAP person and others seeking the judge’s recusal from proceeding the CBI’s situation to the proceedings court’s discharge order, the bureau said, “If attending a relation of Akhil Bhartiya Adhivakta Parishad shows ideological bias of immoderate justice past ample fig of sitting High Court and Supreme Court judges would person to recuse from proceeding immoderate lawsuit wherever politically exposed persons are accused”.
