The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a nominated Member of the Cantonment Board successful Meerut for allegedly demanding and receiving ₹3 lakh successful bribe.
The accused has been identified arsenic Satish Kumar Sharma. He was posted arsenic the nominated Member of the Cantonment Board successful Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. It is alleged that Mr. Sharma demanded amerciable gratification for the creaseless continuation of a tender for parking, canteen, and introduction fees of Gandhi Bagh, Meerut Cantt.
The tender has been awarded to a backstage firm, being operated by the complainant connected behalf of his mother, done an e-auction for ₹76.34 lakh. The accused had threatened to get the tender cancelled connected immoderate flimsy crushed if the bribe was not paid.
Acting connected the ailment and archetypal findings, the CBI registered a lawsuit and laid a trap. The accused was caught red-handed portion accepting ₹3 lakh from the complainant, said the agency.
