District Collector O. Anand connected Wednesday urged the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Guntakal Division Chandrasekhar Gupta to present a regular freight work from Tadipatri to New Delhi and Mumbai to enactment the district’s fast-growing horticulture exports.

During a gathering with the elder railway officials astatine the DRM’s enclosure successful Guntakal, the Collector said Anantapur’s horticulture assemblage had achieved important rise, producing 19.22 lakh metric tonnes of bananas, saccharine oranges, mangoes, pomegranates, and watermelons crossed 72,018 hectares. Of this, 10.70 lakh metric tonnes were supplied to bluish States, portion 1.87 lakh metric tonnes were exported, contributing to a full accumulation worth of ₹3,470 crore, Mr. Anand informed the Railway officials.

The Collector said that the territory had immense potential, with 1,10,324 hectares nether a wide scope of fruits, vegetables, spices, flowers, and different high-value crops. A dedicated obstruction nexus from Tadipatri would amended logistics, chopped transit delays, and assistance farmers and exporters entree larger markets much efficiently, helium said.

Responding to the proposal, the DRM said the Railways would clasp consultations with exporters, buyers and applicable departments to analyse operational requirements and chalk retired a plan.
