Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar released a publication titled ‘Gandikota Veeranari Govindamma’ aft lesser-known Telugu pistillate warrior of Kadapa region, connected Thursday.

Interestingly, the Telugu warrior besides belonged to Pemmasani clan. Govindamma fought the conflict alongside her younger member Pemmasani Chinna Thimma Naidu, the ruler of the Gandikota region, and breathed her last.

The publication was authored by Nemalidinne Nagaveni, a societal activistic and past enthusiast from Kadapa, who has taken up initiatives to get dilapidated structures renovated and famed tourer spots to light.

“Akin to Jhansi Rani and Rani Rudrama Devi, Govindamma was arsenic valorous and her sacrifice is worthy a recall,” said Ms. Nagaveni, who credited tourism enthusiast and writer Siddavatam Seetharamaiah for her latest work. The Minister has assured each the enactment to make the humanities sites astir Gandikota, she added.
