BJP MP from Uttara Kannada Vishveshwara Kageri sparked a contention by claiming that the nationalist anthem “Jana Gana Mana” was “originally written to invited British officials” and that “Vande Mataram” should person been chosen arsenic India’s nationalist anthem instead.
