The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) connected Wednesday (April 22, 2026) staged a protestation and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer implicit the deletion of names of 9.8 lakh voters from the electoral rolls up of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The enactment said, “While we admit that periodic revision of electoral rolls is indispensable to support the integrity and credibility of the antiauthoritarian process, the contiguous developments rise superior apprehensions astir imaginable large-scale disenfranchisement of eligible voters.”
