Bengaluru legal metrology officer arrested for taking bribe

The Lokayukta officials connected Monday caught an Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology red-handed portion accepting a bribe from a businessman for clearing a pending licence application.

The complainant, Kiran R.M., lad of R. Muniraju and a advisor residing successful R.S. Palya, alleged that Vanishree M.S., Assistant Controller of Legal Metrology, 4th Circle, Mapana Bhavan, demanded a bribe to o.k. a packaging licence related to mobile accessories.

The authoritative had allegedly demanded ₹10,000 to process the application. Following the complaint, the officials laid a trap and reportedly caught the serviceman portion accepting ₹5,000 arsenic portion of the bribe amount.

Vanishree has been taken into custody nether the Prevention of Corruption act. Further probe is nether way.
