The Election Commission of India (ECI) connected Thursday (January 15, 2026) rejected a connection from West Bengal main electoral serviceman to judge Class 10 (madhyamik) admit paper arsenic a valid papers for verification during the ongoing peculiar intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, an authoritative said.

In a connection to the State CEO, the ECI said it had examined the connection but recovered that the madhyamik admit paper does not fig successful the database of admissible documents prescribed for the SIR process.

The ECI noted that successful accordance with the instructions issued connected October 27, 2025, for the behaviour of SIR successful West Bengal, the madhyamik admit paper is not recognised arsenic a valid papers for verification purposes, it said.

"In presumption of the above, the committee is of the sentiment that the connection to judge the madhyamik admit paper arsenic a valid papers cannot beryllium acceded to," the connection said.

The determination has been conveyed by the canvass sheet to the State authorities, officials said.
