Beame (Bank Employees Arts Movement Ernakulam) is celebrating a milestone connected November 17. Its 500th monthly programme, MT Ezhuthinte Atmavu, a show by Perambra Sabarmati Theatre Village, volition beryllium staged astatine TDM Hall.

Since Beame’s enactment successful 1983, the corporate has been consistently organising programmes rooted successful Indian musical, creation and theatrical traditions. Since its ceremonial inauguration by writer Vaikkom Chandrasekharan Nair astatine the Kerala Fine Arts Hall, each month, Beame has hosted assorted kinds of performances by eminent artistes including a Bharatanatyam festival jointly conducted by Padma Subrahmanyam, Sudharani Raghupathy and Chitra Visweswaran. It brought musicians, dancers, artists, playwrights, filmmakers and practitioners of accepted arts from antithetic parts of the satellite to the stage, thereby contributing to the taste cloth of Kochi.

From Carnatic and Hindustani concerts to accepted and people creation forms, populist ganamelas to rap, modern dance, and theatre, Beame became a level for the artistes to showcase their art. In summation to its monthly programmes, Beame has besides screened films and organised taste competitions.
