A second-year B.Tech pupil allegedly jumped to his decease from the 4th level of his hostel successful Greater Noida's Knowledge Park country aboriginal connected Saturday (January 24, 2026) aft being reprimanded for consuming alcohol, constabulary said.
The deceased was identified arsenic Udit Soni, a autochthonal of Jhansi district. He was rushed to a infirmary aft the incident, wherever doctors declared him dead, they said.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Sudhir Kumar, connected Friday (January 23, 2026) night, the pupil had returned to his hostel successful Knowledge Park 3 with 2 friends aft consuming alcohol.
"On Friday night, Udit Soni, a second-year B.Tech pupil and nonmigratory of Jhansi district, returned to his hostel with his friends Chetan and Kuldeep aft consuming alcohol," Mr. Kumar said.
He said the hostel absorption reprimanded the pupil for his behaviour and sent a video of the incidental to his father, Vijay Soni. After receiving the video, Vijay Soni rang his lad up, scolded him and threatened to bring him backmost location from the hostel.
"Distressed by the incident, the pupil jumped from the 4th level of the hostel. He was instantly taken to the hospital, wherever helium was declared dead," Mr. Kumar said.
The serviceman said household members of the deceased are contiguous astatine the spot, and the assemblage has been sent for post-mortem aft completion of the indispensable ineligible formalities.
Two persons person been taken into custody successful transportation with the matter, and further probe is underway, constabulary said.
