Assistant in Sedam BEO office caught by Karnataka Lokayukta taking bribe to release pension benefits

Officials of the Karnataka Lokayukta arrested a First Division Assistant (FDA) attached to the bureau of the Block Education Officer (BEO) successful Sedam successful Kalaburagi territory for allegedly taking bribe from a complainant.

According to the accusation shared by Siddaraju, Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta), the accused, Shivalingappa, had allegedly demanded ₹28,500 from complainant Afridi, a nonmigratory of Mohalla Maidan successful Yadgir city, for processing the post-retirement pension benefits of his mother, Razak Begum.

Afridi approached the Lokayukta constabulary and lodged a complaint. A squad led by Arunkumar Muragundi, Police Inspector, Lokayukta caught the accused erstwhile helium allegedly received ₹25,000 done UPI.

Lokayukta officials confirmed that a lawsuit has been registered nether the Prevention of Corruption Act. The accused volition beryllium produced earlier the jurisdictional tribunal and remanded to judicial custody, they added.
