Marking World Heritage Week, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) organised a practice locomotion and clean-up thrust astatine the Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple) successful Thanjavur connected Sunday.

World Heritage Week is observed from November 19 to 25 each year. In transportation with this, ASI officials and volunteers carried retired conservation consciousness activities wrong the temple complex, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The programme was led by P. Aravazhi, Superintending Archaeologist (in-charge); V. Muthukumar, Assistant Superintending Archaeologist; P. Suresh Babu, Conservation Assistant; and S. Sankar, Senior Conservation Assistant.

A ample fig of practice enthusiasts, volunteers, devotees, and NCC cadets participated successful clearing waste, removing overgrowth, and cleaning assorted sections of the temple premises.

Participants took a pledge to safeguard practice monuments and guarantee their preservation for aboriginal generations.
