Anti-Corruption Movement seeks action on OSR encroachments in Coimbatore

The Coimbatore portion of the Anti-Corruption Movement has issued a ineligible announcement to the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, seeking betterment of encroached Open Space Reservation (OSR) lands and implementation of a Madras High Court order.

In the announcement dated December 30, 2025, the organisation cited the High Court’s December 19, 2025 bid and alleged nonaccomplishment to reclaim a 13-cent OSR tract astatine Saravanampatti successful Ward No. 4 of the North Zone.

The caput of the Movement, N.K. Velu, said the announcement sought eviction of encroachers wrong 1 month, betterment of damages for unauthorised occupation, registration of transgression cases against encroachers, and departmental and vigilance enactment against officials allegedly involved.

It warned of contempt proceedings and a Public Interest Litigation seeking a court-monitored probe into OSR encroachments crossed the Corporation if enactment was not taken wrong 30 days.
