Anglo Indians’ forum urges Centre to fill vacancies in National Commission for Minorities

The Anglo Indian Welfare Federation of India has urged the Union authorities to capable vacancies successful the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) astatine the earliest.

In a missive to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Augustine Roy Rozario, the forum’s nationalist president, said the Commission, a statutory body, had been non-functional for respective months owing to vacancies that arose owed to the extremity of tenures of the Chairperson and immoderate members.

Mr. Rozario pointed retired the station of NCM Chairperson had remained vacant pursuing the status of Iqbal Singh Lalpura successful April 2025. Besides, the posts of vice-chairperson and 5 different members remained unfilled pursuing the expiry of their tenures, helium added.
