Thousands of anganwadi teachers, helpers and workers staged a dharna crossed the State connected Friday, seeking solution of their long-pending demands.

They struck enactment and participated successful the protestation seeking wage rise, implementation of gratuity, removal of aggregate Apps, and hold of each payment schemes to the staff. Besides strengthening pre-schools and expanding paper charges for mothers and children, they besides demanded that the 1,810 mini centres beryllium upgraded into main anganwadi centres.

More than 1 lakh members of the Andhra Pradesh Anganwadi Workers and Helpers’ Association (affiliated to the AITUC), the A.P. Pragathi Sheela Anganwadi Workers and Helpers’ Union and the A.P. Anganwadi Workers and Helpers’ Union (affiliated to the CITU) participated successful the protest.

The authorities had fixed successful penning a committedness to code the problems erstwhile the anganwadi teachers and helpers strucl enactment for 42 days successful 2023, but the demands remained unresolved, said a national person J. Lalitha.
