Badminton teams of boys and girls from Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, emerged winners and runners-up successful the precocious concluded Karnataka State Junior Ball Badminton Championship astatine Chamarajanagara.
Chamarajanagara District Ball Badminton Association and Ball Badminton Association of Karnataka organised the Championship connected January 19 and 20. While 24 teams participated successful the boys’ category, 16 teams participated successful the girls’ category.
Two teams of boys and girls each represented the Alva’s. In the league and knockout format tournament, Alva’s boys‘ and girls’ ‘A’ teams emerged champions, portion Alva’s boys’ and girls’ ‘B’ teams emerged runners-up.
In the semifinals, Alva’s boys’ ‘A’ squad defeated the Chamarajanagara territory squad and Alva’s ‘B’ squad defeated the Rajarajeshwari Nagar team. In the girls’ category, Alva’s ‘A’ squad defeated the Mudigere squad and Alva’s ‘B’ squad defeated the Rajarajeshwari Nagar squad successful consecutive sets to scope the last stage.
The finals were fought betwixt the 4 teams of the Alva’s successful some the categories. Foundation Chairman M Mohan Alva congratulated the squad members.
