AIADMK split: Edappadi Palaniswami sacks party’s 26 district secretaries

AIADMK wide caput Edappadi K. Palaniswami, connected Wednesday (May 13, 2026), relieved 26 rebel territory secretaries from their positions.

The territory secretaries who were removed, included Natham R. Viswanathan, S.P. Velumani, C.Ve. Shanmugam, R. Kamaraj and C. Vijayabaskar. Of the ousted functionaries, 12 are presently the legislators of the party. The remaining 8 are R. Kamaraj, K.P. Anbalagan, K.C. Veeramani, Esakki Subaya, M.R. Vijayabhaskar, P. Balakrishna Reddy, A. Arumozhithevan and S.M. Sukumar.

Mr. Palaniswami appointed 14 caller territory secretaries and restructured immoderate different territory units to person 9 caller office-bearers. Among those fixed the party’s station are erstwhile Minister Dindigul C.Sreenivasan (for the territory portion of Dindigul - east), Neyveli legislator R. Rajendran (Cuddalore - south), erstwhile MP C. Sivasami (Tiruppur - suburban) and erstwhile MLA V.P.B. Paramasivam (Dindigul-west).

Later successful the day, Mr. Shanmugam questioned the authorization of Mr. Palaniswami successful carrying retired the removal of the territory secretaries.
