Advocates boycott courts protesting attacks

Protesting against the attacks connected advocates, members of Andhra Pradesh State Bar Federation and the Bezawada Bar Association (BBA) boycotted tribunal duties connected Monday.

In October this year, miscreants burnt the car of advocator P. Gowtham Reddy successful Vijayawada. The accused conducted ‘recce’ astatine the location of Mr. Reddy. In different incident, unidentified persons attacked advocator A. Rajashekar astatine Tirupati recently, said BBA president A.K. Basha.

Though a ailment has been lodged with the constabulary successful NTR Commissionerate, nary lawsuit has been registered, Mr. Gowtham Reddy alleged.

Later, the advocates organised a rally from the Courts Complex to Police Commissioner’s bureau and submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) A.B.T. Udaya Rani. Mr. Basha appealed to the constabulary to apprehension the accused immediately, and supply extortion to the advocates. Condemning the attacks, advocates abstained from tribunal duties successful Krishna, West Godavari and Chittoor districts.
