In Chittur, a namesake campaigner appears to person shaped the outcome. An independent, allegedly fielded by the United Democratic Front (UDF), has divided the votes of the Left Democratic Front (LDF)’s V. Murugadas, paving the mode for a 6,510-vote triumph for the UDF’s Sumesh Achuthan.

Murugadas P., the namesake candidate, polled 6,984 votes, exceeding the borderline of victory. Without this split, the LDF would person won the spot by 474 votes.
